Announcing our 52nd 2024-2025 Season!

Bathroom Humor

By Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore

Auditions: August 12 - 13, 2024

Performances: Sept 27 - Oct 6, 2024

Van Zandt and Milmore have done it again! This hilarious new farce from the authors of Love, Sex and the I.R.S. have certainly come up with a novel setting: the play takes place in the bathroom in a home during a party, a handy place for gossip and hanky panky, where we learn of the wild and crazy things going on at the party. The authors have ingeniously contrived this play so that we feel that, if we had gone to this party we, too, might have spent most of our time hiding out in the bathroom! Definitely recommended for dinner theatre, community theatre, and summer stock audiences.

“Bathroom Humor” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Cabaret (1998 Version)

Book by Joe Masteroff

Based on the play by John Van Druten and Stories by Christopher Isherwood

Music by John Kander Lyrics by Fred Ebb

Auditions: January 6 - 7, 2025

Performances: Feb 21 - March 2, 2025

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920's draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee's bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally's boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Musical numbers include "Willkommen," "Cabaret," "Don't Tell Mama" and "Two Ladies."

CABARET is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC.

The Importance of Being Earnest

By Oscar Wilde

Auditions: February 24 - 25, 2025

Performances: April 4 - 13, 2025

First performed in 1895, is a comedic play that satirizes the conventions and manners of Victorian society. The subtitle of the play, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People, aptly captures Wilde’s tongue-in-cheek take on the cultural milieu to which he was subject. Set in England during the late 19th century, the play follows the lives of two young men, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, who adopt fictional identities to escape social obligations. Jack invents a brother named Ernest, while Algernon creates an invalid friend named Bunbury. The plot unfolds with mistaken identities, clever wordplay, and humorous social commentary.
