Bring your family and friends for open play of a variety of tabletop board and card games. Come one day or all weekend long.
Rio Grande Games has supplied several games for our board games library. Bring your own games and use our big tables to play!
Do you play D&D or other role-playing games? Reserve our actor's green room for your TTRPG session!
With enough notice, we can make custom designed 3D miniatures for your players thanks to the generous support of Eldritch Foundry. Contact us for more information.
Play a game at the convention and love it so much you need your own copy? Great Escape Gaming is happy to help you get it at their retail store in Flint, Michigan.
Some snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. You are welcome to bring in food and drink (non-alcoholic please).
Admission is $5 per person per day or $10 for the whole weekend. A family pass is also available for $10 per day or $20 for the whole weekend for all members in your household.
Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times during the event. Unsupervised children may be asked to leave the event space, and repeat issues may result in the family being asked to leave for the remainder of the event.
*Play to Win!*
New this year, the Act of Gaming Con will have a Play to Win area. Thanks to the kind support of Stonemaier Games & Rio Grande Games, we will have a few games to give way. Attendees can check out these games, play them, and then fill out a slip to enter the drawing for a chance to win a copy of that game.
Act of Gaming Sponsors & Support
1) Is the convention suitable for children?
The convention is suitable for all ages, subject to their maturity level. Rio Grande Games has generously sent several family friendly games for our library. We will have a separate area set up for families with closer proximity to the restrooms. We ask that parents/guardians pickup and return games from the library shelves and monitor children under 13 during gameplay.
2) May I bring my own games?
Absolutely! Although there will be a collection of games available to play from the convention library, you are completely welcome to bring any of your own favorite games to play.
3) Will there be vendors at the convention?
No, this is just a weekend to play games.
4) How does the game library work?
The game library will include a large selection of board games, which will be available for you to borrow and play one at a time. Your convention badge is required for checking out games. If you are unfamiliar with a game or would like a recommendation, please ask an ambassador.
5) Do you have a list of games available to play?
Our convention ambassadors and fellow attendees will be bringing in numerous games from their personal library and we can not guarantee any specific game will be available.
Rio Grade Games has donated many games for The Act of Gaming and will be available to play.
6) Can we play DnD or other RPGs?
Yes! We would love to have you. We have a private room used for our theatre actors called the Green Room with a table, chairs and even a fridge and TV that you can use for a campaign game session. We are also happy to coordinate with you to 3D print custom miniatures for your adventurers or NPCs in advance thanks to the generosity of Eldritch Foundry. We merely ask for a donation for the cost of print materials.
7) Can we play a group party game like Blood on the Clocktower or Werewolf?
Absolutely. You can reserve the Green Room for your group. In years past, based on availability, we have been able to run such games in our Theatre space for a truly dramatic experience! Contact us for more information.
8) How does the Play to Win drawing work?
Simply check out one of the games available to win for that day and play with your group. Once you return the game, every person who played it may fill out an entry ticket. One entry per player per day. At the end of the day, we'll draw one ticket and that person will receive a new copy of that game. You must be present to win the game.
9) What games are available for the Play to Win drawing?
Available games will be posted at the games library each day. We currently have games from Stonemaier Games and Rio Grande Games to give away.
